The Consortium for IT Software Quality (CISQ) is a neutral, open forum in which customers and suppliers of IT application software can develop an industry-wide agenda of actions for improving IT software quality to reduce cost and business risk. The objectives of the consortium are:
- Deploy best practices for governing software delivery with standard software quality metrics
- Refine the use of software quality metrics in supplier contracts
- Improve the non-functional, structural quality of software across industry in such areas as Reliability, Security, Performance, and Maintainability
- Advise, educate, and advocate the importance of IT application quality to industry and government
CISQ is co-sponsored by the Object Management Group® (OMG®) and the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University to combine their industry-leading strengths for dramatically improving software quality and measurement throughout industry and government. Sponsors join CISQ’s Board, participate in standards definition, and support the evolution of software engineering.
